HUMAN RIGHTS AND SOCIAL JUSTICE
Social justice and human rights have a shared goal: human dignity, equally for all. The issues that make social justice difficult to achieve, such as poverty, exclusion and discrimination are in direct contradiction with human rights, which apply to all.
Inequalities created by apartheid-era injustices continue to plague South Africa today. Highly motivated individuals are needed to work in the fields of human rights and social justice to support and develop creative solutions to today’s social, political and economic challenges. Our Human Rights and Social Justice internships range from working with highly-visible grassroots social movements to large multi-national non profit organisations. Interns who are passionate about Human Rights can gain hands-on work experience that includes increasing people’s access to basic services; promoting active citizenship and social justice; Human Rights education; policy, research, and writing; and community organising.
