Monitoring and Evaluation Intern
The organization is looking for an intern with M&E background or interest to help us create and maintain monitoring and evaluation tools and write reports on activities. As the organization continues to grow, we are looking for ways to streamline our offerings and evaluate the efficiency of our efforts and worth. Want to measure the impact. This is crucial for applying for grants!
Seeking an intern who can be self-led and run with creating these tools and systems, and then teaching staff on implementation. Must be sustainable. Perfect way to best contribute to an organization’s long-term success.
Fundraising Intern
The organization seeks an intern with at least a bit of fundraising experience to help us research and apply for available funding, as we rarely have the resources to do this!
As of now, we are funded through small grants and private donations, but need assistance in identifying relevant grants, drafting proposals, and brainstorming on creative ways to secure funding (events, marketing, etc.) Increase in funding will allow us to expand our current services and programmes!
Social work Intern
we are starting up a counseling/training programme for the members of our independent living programme, and are looking for an intern with experience in psychology or social work to implement this project. The programme consists of a number of modules on various subjects such as financial management, cooking, relationship skills, home management, etc. which will be very valuable for these youths, and further encourage their independence. Interns would have to plan a curriculum for one or more of these modules and conduct the teaching sessions for the youths, and continue to work with them to implement the skills they’ve learned.

Why this is important:
While we don’t work directly with South Africans, refugees and asylum seekers are a growing population in South Africa, and issues with immigrants and asylum seekers are always on the national radar. Unfortunately there are not many services available (virtually no government services) to these destitute individuals and they often face xenophobia from locals and discrimination as they search for employment, education and shelter. Our project exists to help as many of these individuals as possible, to try and fill part of the huge gap that exists in services for these people.
